Tiger Lily Day Nursery is located on the outskirts of Halesowen, West Midlands and was formally known as The Stockings Residential Home. It has received a full renovation and opened its doors in January 2011 as a children’s day nursery.
Joint Managing Directors; Charlotte Moseley and Melissa Rexworthy; both having young children wanted to create a business that would enable them the freedom to watch their own children grow. With having experience of running a residential business and managerial qualifications, Tiger Lily Day Nursery became a reality.

Our Vision:
To be the first choice childcare provider within our community, offering the best service to our families and giving all children the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Our Aims:
Our aim is to have happy, confident and caring children, who are motivated to learn through our well planned and exciting activities using both our indoor and outdoor environment. We aim to provide a safe, caring and stimulating environment in which children may learn and grow in confidence and self-esteem whilst providing a friendly, flexible childcare service for parents.
We intend this by:
  • Creating a secure and happy environment that is child centred, stimulating and safe.
  • To do our best to offer the flexibility when meeting individuals requirements.
  • To employ qualified and experienced staff who pledge to give your child the very best attention and education.
  • To adopt the philosophy of positive learning through positive play.
  • To make learning fun for all.
  • To provide healthy nutritious meals.
All children have a key person, who is responsible for their needs during their time at nursery. This will include making observations on your child’s development as well as giving meals and feeds and carrying out nappy changes or potty training, as appropriate. You will be included in your child’s day at nursery through communication diaries, notice boards and general conversations.

Tax-Free Childcare
Get 20% Back on Your Childcare Costs
For every £8.00 you pay into your Tax-Free Childcare account, the government adds £2.00 – up to £2,000.00 per child per year or (£4,000.00 for disabled children).
The eligibility criteria for Tax-Free childcare is broadly aligned with 30 hours free childcare. The main differences are that Tax-Free Childcare is not available for children under 12 years of age whose parents are in receipt of tax credits, universal credit or childcare vouchers. Parents in receipt of these can choose, as part of the childcare service application, whether they want to keep these benefits and apply for the 30 hours only, or leave these benefits and apply for Tax-Free childcare instead. Tiger Lily Day nursery is registered to accept Tax-Free Childcare payments through the HMRC online service. It is still parent’s responsibility to ensure payments reach us on time i.e. 1st of every month.

Government funding explained
Here’s how it all works:

Time for Two's ( 2 year old funding)
Families receiving certain benefits or with a household income under £16,190 per year may qualify for this 15 hours funded per week, 38 weeks per year (term-time)
Check your eligibility and apply through Dudley Council.
This funding helps eligible 2-year-olds access quality early education before the universal entitlement begins at age 3.
Our 15 hours’ funded places for 2 year olds can be limited, and we don’t usually stretch these hours across the year.
Universal Funded 15 hours (All 3-4 year olds)
15 funded hours per week, 38 weeks per year (term-time) or stretched across the year.
No application is needed, your child is automatically eligible. Simply let us know you'd like to use your funded hours.
This is a universal entitlement - every 3 and 4 year old in England qualifies, regardless of family circumstances.
30 Hours extended Entitlement
Working parents (both parents, or single parent) earning at least National Minimum Wage for 16 hours/week, but under £100,000/year each.
30 funded hours per week, 38 weeks per year or stretched across the year.
Apply online at https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/  to get your 30-hour eligibility code.
You'll need to reconfirm your eligibility every 3 months to continue receiving the extended hours.
Working Family Funding
Working parents of children from 9 months old. Same earning thresholds as 30 hours scheme.
30 funded hours per week, 38 weeks per year or stretched across the year.
Apply online at https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/ to check eligibility.

The Childcare choices website is a useful place to go in order to find out about your options. It provides access to the application process for the childcare accounts and for the 30 hour entitlement. Please make sure you tick the boxes that are applicable to your individual circumstances. Eligibility for all options, including the 30 hours is determined by HMRC but can be checked by the parents through the relevant government website.

Funded-Only Placements
If you require a funded-only placement, please contact the nursery to discuss availability. Please note:
Placement days are not guaranteed within the funded-only offer. While we strive to maintain consistency, attendance patterns may be subject to change with a minimum of two weeks' notice.

For further details or to discuss your child’s placement, please feel free to contact us. We’re happy to help!

At Tiger Lily, as we operate 51 weeks of the year we stretch these funded hours over the whole year for more flexibility, therefore most of our parent’s access around 22.35 hours when claiming 30 funded hours over 51 weeks.
